Polystar announces signature of Operations Support Systems interoperability initiative (OSSii) agreement with Nokia. This partnership grants continuous access to Nokia’s technical specifications, enabling Polystar to enhance and maintain its RAN monitoring solution seamlessly with Nokia interfaces.
Background of OSSii
The Operations Support Systems interoperability initiative (OSSii) was initiated to facilitate interoperability between different vendor’s solutions.
Operations Support Systems typically integrate to a variety of telecom network technologies, from many different equipment vendors, as well as the telecom operator business systems, making OSS integration both complex and costly.
The Objectives of OSSii:
- Enabling easier interoperability between OSS systems
- Reducing overall OSS integration costs and enabling shorter time-to-market
Nokia started The Operations Support Systems interoperability initiative jointly with Ericsson and Huawei.
RAN Monitoring for True End-to-End Customer Experience Assurance
Through this strengthened partnership with Nokia, Polystar can continue its commitment to delivering true end-to-end customer experience assurance. Extending the existing OSIX and KALIX with RAN Monitoring will empower Polystar customers to:
- Extend root cause analysis of service delivery issues, such as VoLTE call drops or poor data throughput, to include radio conditions.
- Identify areas that require network optimization or additional capacity.
- Enable a pro-active approach to monitoring to ensure high-quality service for subscribers.
- Optimize RAN parameters, including handover thresholds and radio network control settings.
- Monitor RAN signaling protocols to quickly identify and resolve issues.
For telecom operators that are already using Polystar’s Customer Experience Assurance solutions through OSIX and KALIX, the addition of RAN Monitoring to the platform is a simple and cost-effective enhancement.
