Cloud-Native Monitoring for Your Network

OSIX xTrace brings access to OSIX data and insights into your cloud environment – complementing your familiar OSIX desktop environment, and bringing an enhanced, streamlined experience to even more users, delivering the same level of rich detail and exploration possibilities.

Cloudification of Networks

As an operator, you are almost certainly driving the cloudification of your network. You may not be moving to the public cloud, but you are definitely leveraging cloud technologies and methodologies to deliver the agility you need for emerging 5G services.

At Polystar, we’ve been helping operators like you optimize your networks for more than 30 years, delivering advanced passive monitoring solutions, like OSIX. Users of OSIX are deeply familiar with the desktop application – trusted by more than 100 customers – and through which they explore the control and user plane data captured.

The familiar desktop application is also complemented by xTrace – a cloud-native, web-based application. Following extensive trials and beta exploration with our customers, xTrace is now available to any OSIX user, offering a new window into your data.

OSIX xTrace

 – Bringing the Best of OSIX to Your Cloud of Choice

xTrace has significant modifications from the familiar desktop application. We’ve focused on bringing the features and functionality most frequently used and accessed to the browser environment – simplifying the experience without compromising performance.

This means it’s even easier to onboard new users, as they can quickly focus their efforts, quickly familiarizing themselves with the environment, so they can find the information and insights they need – as you can see here.

OSIX xTrace also includes new collaboration options, further accelerating adoption across your organization. These include the ability to share diagrams, call flows and to enable reporting between users – increasing collaboration and problem-solving opportunities – and spreading access to insights that can drive new levels of optimization.

Of course, different operators have different policies regarding data sovereignty and protection: xTrace is compatible with them all. Your data remains on your premises – while xTrace can be deployed in the same environment – or on the cloud, as you prefer. It perfectly complements the desktop application, while further democratizing access to data.

Enabled by the OSIX API – Supporting a Growing Range of Use Cases

xTrace leverages the OSIX API – which you may have already used to link to other tools, such as Grafana, or orchestration platforms and automation solutions. With OSIX xTrace, the integration has been perfectly optimized by our team, so you gain the very best experience.

The API enables a growing range of use cases. For example, some of our customers have used it to support Drive Tests. In this scenario, a number of SIMs are deployed in specialized equipment in vehicles. The movements of these SIMs are captured in OSIX – and the data related to specific journeys needs to be retrieved periodically.

With the OSIX API, it’s easy to create scripts to automatically retrieve this data, at the required intervals. The process is automated, so there’s no need to return to OSIX and manually extract the data – and the results can also be displayed in xTrace.

New automation use cases are emerging all the time – so make sure you look out for these at the User Meeting! Similarly, xTrace supports all updates to OSIX – so 5G VoNR, VoLTE and much more are available, with new enhancements delivered according to the OSIX upgrade program.

Secure access and rights management, aligned with our Automated Assurance portfolio

xTrace users also benefit from the same user access and rights management protection that has been adopted across all of the Elisa Polystar solution portfolio, which means there’s no impact on your existing security policies and protection protocols.

As you may know, Polystar’s complete range of Customer Experience Assurance solutions can be deployed on hyperscaler Kubernetes as a Service platforms – but the choice is, ultimately yours.

Hybrid or private models can also be supported from our common platform. And, your users can quickly access the solution they need through a common login – diving straight to xTrace or going over to KALIX portals from a single entry point.

So, if you haven’t experienced xTrace yet, it’s time to take a look. Contact us today to explore xTrace and arrange a demonstration for your team.
