Gridle AI Maximizes Value

Electricity markets are too dynamic and complex for manual optimization. Gridle AI continuously ingests real-time data from markets, weather, batteries, and grid signals. It forecasts prices and flexibility, then uses optimization algorithms and reinforcement learning to allocate capacity across electricity balancing and wholesale markets.

The system operates across time scales: over years, it adjusts usage to extend asset life; over months, it detects maintenance needs; over days and hours, it allocates and adjusts market participation; and every minute, it prioritizes which assets to activate. Charging is managed to avoid deep cycling and preserve battery health.

 

About Gridle

Gridle, formerly known as Elisa Distributed Energy Storage (DES), launched in early 2020, was originally developed to optimize Elisa Corporation’s distributed backup batteries across telecom base stations. What began as an internal initiative quickly scaled into a large Virtual Power Plant (VPP) project, spanning over 2,000 sites and managing a total capacity of 150 MWh. Today, Gridle builds on Elisa’s century-long legacy of innovation and automation, optimizing a wide range of flexible energy assets for energy-intensive industries, telecom operators and households.
