Objectives

sedApta partnered with Mapei S.p.A. to implement an advanced Demand Forecasting  solution, enhancing industrial demand management and optimizing production planning. The system, based on statistical algorithms and a collaborative environment, enabled:

• Improved forecasting accuracy
• Proactive management of critical demand fluctuations
• Streamlined introduction of new products and replacement of existing ones

Solution

The project, with Mapei S.p.A. as the first group company to adopt the sedApta system, was developed using a strategic approach that considered the needs and characteristics of all Mapei group entities.

The solution was designed to be:

• Scalable and replicable: A standardized model for data and configurations allows for quick and cost-effective system adoption across other group companies.
• Flexible and customizable: The system meets specific needs of different entities while maintaining consistency to support scalability.
• Integrated with management systems: The integration was tailored to fit the requirements of both Mapei S.p.A.’s management system and those of other group subsidiaries, following a shared adoption roadmap.

The implementation follows a gradual rollout, addressing diverse geographic and business needs while maintaining system performance and data quality, even with increasing data volumes and users.

A particular focus was placed on user collaboration:

• Each user, based on their role, can access relevant data organized at different aggregation levels to meet operational and managerial requirements.
• Collaborative processes enable users within the same company and across group companies to work together efficiently, producing an accurate, consensus-driven forecast.
