We are excited to share that, starting August 2026, LineWorks SEC (Statistical Equipment Control) will take on a new name: LineWorks FDC (Fault Detection and Classification).

This rebrand marks an important milestone for the solution. With capabilities that closely align with what the semiconductor market widely recognizes as FDC, LineWorks SEC is now extending more clearly into semiconductor usage under a name that customers, partners, and the industry can immediately understand: LineWorks FDC.

At the time, terms such as Statistical Equipment Control and Statistical Process Control were commonly used to describe approaches for monitoring equipment and processes in real time.

As the solution's capabilities and adoption continue to expand, especially for semiconductor manufacturing environments, Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) has become the market-recognized term for these capabilities.

The name LineWorks FDC therefore brings the product name in line with the language already familiar to semiconductor manufacturers, making its value and purpose more immediately recognizable to the market.

Rather than a fundamental product change, this is a positive step forward: a trusted solution with established capabilities is now presented with a name that better reflects how the semiconductor industry commonly understands and describes this usage.

What does the rebranding mean for existing LineWorks SEC customers?

There is no change to the solution for existing customers.

Customers currently using LineWorks SEC can continue using the solution as before. The rebranding does not require customers to migrate to a different product or adopt a new solution.

The name LineWorks FDC will be reflected in the system as part of the latest system update. Existing customers can therefore expect to see the new product name in the updated version of the system.
